INGREDIENTS;

  • 1 Cup ragi flour
  • 1/2 cup khaand (a sweetening agent and a healthier substitute of sugar) or palm sugar 
  • 1/2 tbsp green cardamom powder
  • 2 pinches of ginger powder
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup oil (rice bran)
  • 1 egg (whisked)
  • 1/2 tbsp salt

METHOD;

1.Combine the ragi flour and cardamom powder in a pan. Then gently roast on a tawa until the colour darkens a little. (for a few moments)

2.In a mixing dish, crack an egg and whisk it together. Toss in the roasted ragi and sugar.

3.Combine well.

4.Toss in the dried ginger and season with salt.

5.After that, add the oil and stir thoroughly. It will resemble black dough.

6.Roll the dough into round balls and flatten them between your palms.

7.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 5-7 minutes. Take a flat plate and cover it with butter paper. There’s no need to grease it.

8.Place the biscuit roundels an inch apart on a baking sheet and bake at 180°C for 8 minutes.
